my journey through hair loss
honest, informative, occasionally amusing and, hopefully, inspiring
In October 2019, my husband came out of the bathroom in our 5-star hotel in Utrecht and said “This hotel is fantastic but I’m not impressed with their housekeeping – have you seen the hair in that shower”. Actually ….” I replied. And so began my journey that would see all of my hair disappear within 3 months.
Hi there and thanks for visiting my page 🙂 I’m Nikki and I thought I should tell you a little bit about myself.
Originally from Surrey, for the last 20 years I’ve been living in Essex in a small village just a stone’s throw from Stansted Airport. I have a wonderful hubby Steve, and son James, and my friends would probably describe me as quite gregarious with a sunny disposition and a bit of ‘nutty’ thrown into the mix.
My passions in life include my family, disaster movies, Stephen King books (especially The Dark Tower series) and sausage rolls. I have what some might consider a bit of a boring job, I’m a Software Consultant, but I love it nonetheless and am very fortunate to work from home for the majority of my time.
Please feel free to leave your thoughts and also share your own experiences if you feel able. Losing your hair can be quite devastating but from my own experience I have come to realise that i’ts not the end of the world (really it isn’t) and with a positive attitude and a bit of humour you will get through it.
Big hugs and thanks to Steve for creating my website and my family and friends for their continued support and positivity xx.
